This privacy notice for Business Things and Whatnot, LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), describes how and why we might collect, store, use, and/or share ("process") your information when you use our services ("Services"), including flylighter.com (the "Site") and the Flylighter browser extension (the "Extension").
Questions or concerns? Reading this privacy notice will help you understand your privacy rights and choices. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Services. If you still have any questions or concerns, please contact us at hello@flylighter.com.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Account information
When you create a Flylighter account, we collect your email address and password. Your password is securely hashed and stored by our authentication provider, Supabase.
Payment information
If you subscribe to Flylighter Pro, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or payment details on our servers. You can manage your subscription and payment methods directly through Stripe's billing portal. You may find Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Email communications
If you subscribe to our mailing list, we collect your email address to send you product updates and announcements.
Extension telemetry
The Flylighter browser extension collects error reports and usage telemetry to help us identify and fix bugs and improve the product. This telemetry is processed by Sentry. You can disable telemetry at any time in the Extension's settings.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information we collect to provide and maintain your Flylighter account, process subscription payments, send you product updates and announcements you have requested, identify and fix bugs and errors in the Extension, and improve the product based on usage patterns.
3. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases to process your personal information:
Contract performance: We process your account information and payment data as necessary to provide you with the Flylighter service you have signed up for.
Legitimate interests: We process telemetry data to identify and fix bugs, improve our product, and ensure the security of our services. You can opt out of telemetry collection in the Extension settings.
Consent: We process your email address for marketing communications only with your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing.
4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
We use the following third-party services that may collect or process information about you:
Supabase: We use Supabase for user authentication and database services. Your email address and hashed password are stored by Supabase. You can review Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
Stripe: We use Stripe to process subscription payments. When you subscribe to Flylighter Pro, your payment information is collected and processed directly by Stripe. We do not have access to your full credit card number. You can review Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Loops: We use Loops to manage our mailing list and send product updates. When you subscribe to our mailing list, your email address is stored by Loops. You can review Loops' privacy policy at loops.so/privacy.
Sentry: We use Sentry to collect error reports and telemetry from the Extension. This helps us identify and fix bugs. You can disable telemetry in the Extension's settings. You can review Sentry's privacy policy at sentry.io/privacy.
Google Fonts: We use Google Fonts to display fonts on our Site. When you visit our Site, your browser may download fonts from Google servers, which may log your IP address.
5. DATA YOU CLIP
The Flylighter Extension allows you to clip content from web pages and save it to third-party services like Notion. The content you clip is sent directly to the destination service you choose. We do not store the content you clip on our servers.
6. SYNC FEATURE (PRO AND INSIDER PLANS)
If you subscribe to Flylighter Pro or Insider, you have access to Sync, which stores certain data in Supabase to synchronize your settings and history across devices. This includes:
Flow configurations: Your configured workflows, including data source settings, property configurations, and autofill details. Autofill details may include static values you have entered or dynamic variables such as page titles or favicons.
Notion connection: Your Notion OAuth token, which allows you to stay connected to Notion across browsers and devices without re-authenticating.
API keys: If you use AI features, your third-party API keys (such as OpenAI or Anthropic) are stored to sync across devices. These keys are used by the Extension to communicate directly with the AI providers.
Capture history: Metadata about pages you have clipped, including the page title, page URL, and the URL of the resulting Notion page. We do not store the actual content you clipped.
Highlight coordinates: If you make on-page highlights, we store the coordinates of DOM nodes to identify the highlighted areas. We do not store the actual text or content of your highlights.
Sync data is stored in Supabase and is associated with your account. If you cancel your Pro or Insider subscription, your Sync data may be retained for a period in case you resubscribe, after which it will be deleted. You can request immediate deletion of your Sync data by contacting us.
7. AI FEATURES
Flylighter offers optional AI-powered features that require you to provide your own API keys from third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI or Anthropic). These API keys are stored as part of your Sync data in Supabase. If you use Sync, your custom prompts and AI feature configurations are also stored to synchronize across devices. When you use AI features, your data is sent directly from the Extension to the AI provider using your API key. We do not store AI outputs. Your use of AI features is subject to the terms and privacy policies of the respective AI providers.
8. SALE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
9. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your account and information, opt out of telemetry collection (via Extension settings), and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information below.
Email opt-out: You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.
Account deletion: You can request deletion of your account by contacting us at hello@flylighter.com.
10. DATA RETENTION
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information, except where we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or reporting purposes. Telemetry data collected by Sentry is retained according to Sentry's data retention policies.
11. SHARING YOUR INFORMATION
Service providers: We share your information with the third-party service providers listed in this policy (Supabase, Stripe, Loops, Sentry) as necessary to provide our services.
Business transfers: We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
Legal requirements: We may disclose your information where required to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, judicial proceedings, court orders, or legal processes.
12. DO-NOT-TRACK SIGNALS
Most web browsers include a Do-Not-Track (DNT) feature or setting. Because there is no uniform standard for recognizing or responding to DNT signals, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will update this policy accordingly.
13. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Flylighter is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 18, please contact us so we can delete it.
14. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
